I believe that these gems of description are the true story of humankind, the most accurate description of the events and feelings and reactions of the common folk that could be put into words. I have never been so touched by any storytelling of any author, and I am 61 years old and have read several thousand books and seen thousands of films. My wish would be that all young people should listen to these stories in the presence of a grandparent, to help explain how life was more simple in the past. Our society could only be improved by such a practice.
