If you've listened to all the rediscovered Rathbone/Bruce - Conway/Bruce and Stanley/Shirley shows or the incredible BBC productions featuring Gielgud/Richardson or the Merrison/Williams and Sachs you must treat yourself to Yuri Rasovsky's Sherlock Holmes production. It starts off with the made for the stage play (as well as written for William Gillette by Sir Arthur himself!) entitled "Sherlock Holmes" with Sherlock Holmes in love!?! Then after that another play written by Conan Doyle entitled "The Speckled Band". But you might say "I know the story of The Speckled Band!" You won't recognize it here as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle has fleshed it out with melodramatic twists and turns not found in the original story he wrote. He also introduces new characters as well. The third is a wonderful parody (of which I'm not usually fond of, but this is too hilarious to turn my nose up at!) by Yuri Rasovsky himself about Dr. Watson and Holmes having a falling out because of Watson's gambling habit and I will not give away the plot any more than that! This is a well worth the download production with excellent peformances by Martin Jarvis, Kristoffer Tabori, and a full cast. The sound and music are top notch and over all there is so much to like about this peformance. Do yourself a favor and click "add to cart".
